Descriptif de la visiteFrom the basilica’s rooftop at sunset, enjoy a unique panoramic view over the entire historic site of Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Sunset Rooftop tour begins with an exploration of the basilica’s hidden areas: the Great Gallery, the attic spaces, and the grand carillon made up of 23 bells. If weather conditions allows it, you will climb up to the St. Michael terrace to the top of the Observatory Tower and admire the magical sunset view of the illuminated city of Lyon.
This tour involves climbing 345 steps (not recommended for those with vertigo or heart conditions).
Access to the rooftop is subject to weather conditions and at the discretion of your guide.
An alternative route including the basilica’s interior will be offered if needed.
Please allow sufficient travel time (possible waiting at the funicular). The tour will begin promptly at the scheduled time and may be shortened in case of late arrival.
Bus parking is available on Rue Roger Radisson.

- Departures every 15 minutes
- Tours available in English, German, Spanish, and Italian depending on guide availability
- Number of visitors is limited by prefectural order—no more than 18 people per group
- Free restrooms are available on the basilica esplanade
- This is a non-smoking tour
